Bless..... Not much time for updates as of late -- all apologies -- but on da flip side that's because i've been maaaaad busy with multiple music projects: full-time audio engineering school, Audiopharmacy prescritions, releasing my remixes on vinyl, and more....

Everything's going well, steady builiding after finally staying in one place for more than 3-4 months! The Bay has been treating me well over the last 10 months, keeping my mind and body full of inspiration with all the amazing music and musicians that surround us... I'm also about to drop my next mixed cd, the overdue follow-up to RUN DI PLACE. The new joint will hit just in time for the summer, and will be a first for me: a full-length mixed CD consisting 100% of exclusive Stepwise remixes! Pure fiyah! I've actually just finished a sneak preview 40 minute mix for the Memekast podcast. This mix -- the June mix for Memekast -- is basically a teaser/excerpt of my upcoming mixed cd, and is available for FREE download HERE. You'll find a complete tracklist there, as well as archived mixes of the past few months. (Including Daneekah's reggae dancehall March stormer.) Many thanks to Space Invader for the invitaion and opportunity...

While on the topic of remixes, I've also finally released the first release of my remix label. Details: Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Also got some Audiopharmacy shows coming up in the next couple of months, where I'll be part of the live AP set -- on sampler/keys -- as well as DJing. As always, peep the DATES page for da full info... Also, it's lookin like Audiopharmacy just landed sponsorship with new skateboard company One Love Skatebords, so stay tuned for more info on dat... Aiight, more soon! Bless up!!

Greets. Plenty of updates to report today. Let's see how far I get... Ok, firstly, I should make mention that after 10 years of performing under my birth name, I have decided to start DJing/performing under my production moniker = STEPWISE. Been playing with the idea for a while, and I've finally decided to make the permanent switch. Of course this means mad changes to other areas of my musical life, including this website. In the coming months I will be launching another website (www.stepwisedj.com) that will replace this one. I won't lose this URL tho, so in the future visiting either address will bring you to the correct site. More info as those plans develop...

Secondly, I have recently joined forces with an amazing group of musicians who perform original, organic, conscious hip hop under the band/label name Audiopharmacy. Producing some of the dopest hip hop in the Bay, the Audiopharmacy live experience is not to be missed = a 10 piece band consisting of 4 emcees; a dope female vocalist who flips it in english and portuguese; live bass, drums, guitars, melodicas and tons of other instruments; 2 turntablists; a conga player; and starting in da '06 myself on live beats and samples. Nuff Bay Area shows are comin up, starting Wednesday January 11th with a show at Madrone on Divisadero/Fell in the Western Addition. (I will also be DJing at the show between/after band sets.) Check my DATES page for full details on this and upcoming shows... And for any promoters out there, the entire Audiopharmacy package is also available for bookings, complete with the 10 piece band, DJs, live painters, B-boy/girl dancers and more...

And lastly, I am about to release a 7" record with some top shotta remixes of mine, so stay glued to this space for the drop date! Boom!

SUN 11.12.05 01:42:24 PST
Aiight, as promised, I've uploaded nuff new music to my TUNES page. Several new productions/riddims of mine, as well as lots of different remixes/mash-ups. Still have many more tunes to post, so keep checkin back fi dat. Also, I've posted my latest DJ mix, RUN DI PLACE, in streaming mp3 format as well. Listen to that either on my AUDIO page or by clicking the link above. Unfortunately, with the way the stream is set up right now you can't scroll thru the mix, but I'll try to fix that sooner than later. If it gets too annoying, hit me up about buying a copy!... I should also mention that I am changing the format of all my audio links from Real Player streams to mp3 streams. I'll eventually switch everything over to mp3, but for the time being the new audio will be in mp3 while some of the older stuff (older mixes mostly) will continue to be streamed in Real Audio.

Ok, that's all for now. Blessss....

THU 11.10.05 15:16:58 PST
Yes massive... Just a quick hello to keep you all posted on tings. Not too much to report, other than I am soon going to be updating my audio page with many new tunes/riddims of mine (haven't done that for about a year!), as well as my Run Di Place mix in streaming audio. Haven't been playing many gigs lately, which has given me more time to get deeper in my productions. Still planning on kick starting a 12" remixes EP, but the exact timing of that is still a bit unclear. Soon come tho... Also be on the lookout for some collabs with the Audiopharmacy peeps. More on that later..

Aiight, get in touch if u have any inquirieeees... Peace.

SAT 09.17.05 14:51:33 PST
For those of you who'd like more info on this Sunday's Heavyweight Dub Champion show, this is what i can tell you: It's going down from 8pm-1am at SUBMISSION - 17th & Capp St in the Mission. (Don't have the exact address, but it's above the motorcycle shop.) I believe the cover is in the $5-10 range. Capacity is limited, so show up early! I'll be DJing (alongside Sterolion on the mic) before and possibly after the Dub performance (8-11 & 12:30-1?). Email me for more info...

Also, I've updated my charts page, so check it to see what is rateddd...

MON 09.12.05 00:05:49 PST
Greetings.. All apologies for the lack of contact in a while -- transitioning back into SF life has taken up most of my time. Lots to report, but it's gonna hafta come a little at a time... Now that I'm back home I'm going to revamp the site and get some new audio up (including finally getting my RUN DI PLACE mix streaming, as well as posting some of my new tunes/remixes) and also post some pics from my last 5 months down unda. Oh, and I'm also going to get a new events/news email list going again (it's been years since the Stress list died!), so stay tuned on how to get yurself subscribed to that.

Got a couple of upcoming events to report as well: This Sunday the 18th I will have the pleasure of supplying DJ support for a fairly small/exclusive Heavyweight Dub Champion show! It'll be a special and intimate show after their performance at Earthdance this week. Exact details will follow soon, but in a nutshell it's going down Sunday from 7pm-midnight at a discreet Mission warehouse location.

Secondly, Breakthru is hosting a benefit for the New Orleans massive on Friday Sept 30th at Club 6. The usual formula: breaks and electro downstairs with hip hop/dancehall on the ups. Stay tuned for the complete lineup... Oh, and lastly, a collab event with the Audiopharmacy kids is in the works. Club 6 in October/November? Soon come....

WED 06.13.05 14:07:09 PST
My melbourne time is winding down once again now, only about a month to go. After that, it's back to SF to plant some roots and get burried in my audio engineering schooling. Until then tho, got lots planned for my Melbourne finale. If you haven't already, definitely check out BURNING NEW on Thursdays at the First Floor. Tings have really been bubbling up there and the night is starting to really blaze! Big tunes all night long! Also be on the lookout for my set at Player's Ball on Sunday July 24th -- always a good time. There will be a Fractured set coming up as well at their new weekly, so stay tuned for those details.

DJ Obliveus has also recently interviewed me for his Beats Working website as well. That should go up shortly, so give it (and the great BW website!) a visit!

Finally, just wanted to send a huge shout out to Tim Finney for his article on Reggaeton in last week's issue of the INPRESS street press! (issue #872) And an extra shout out to Tim for naming BURNING NEW as thee place to hear it!...Great to see reggaeton finally getting some press down unda! Hold tite Australia, cuz once it catches a'fire it's gonna explode!

Just a quick update today... A few tings to report on: Firstly, selectas Daneekah, Flavio and myslef will be heading north to play four shows in four nights over the Queen's B-day weekend. You can check the DATES page for the complete details, but in a nutshell we'll be visiting the following cities: Byron Bay, Gold Coast, plus 2 shows in Brisbane.

Also, selecta Daneekah and I will be venturing up to Sydney sometime in the next month or two, and are looking to play some shows up there. Any Sydney promotors out there who'd like more info on this please get in touch.

Ok, back soon with more details about all these tings... Whacha!

TUE 04.12.05 10:30:09 PST
Greetings from Melbourne, Australia once again. Here for another 4 months, and things are already shaping up in a good way. Firstly, anyone looking to get in touch with me during my stay here can either email me or phone me on my Australian mobile, which is 0403 883 142. If dialing from the States, dial 011 614 03 883 142.

Lots of good musical happenings already in the works. Please visit my DATES page for the complete details, but here are the highlights... I've landed two new residencies here in Melbourne:

2) DJ Obliveus has locked down a weekly night of downtempo beats at the LOUNGE on Swanston St in downtown Melbourne, aptly called the GREEN GORILLA LOUNGE. Joining him in the mix (on a monthly rotation) will be myself alongside DJ Paz. Hip hop, reggae, dancehall, lounge, and more to be expected. Happening every Thursday...
3) The Safari Klub Sound System have taken over an amazing new venue in the city, 2FIVEFIVE. Nuff musical styles changing on a nightly basis, with Saturday nights being held down by residents Flavio, Kauzi, and myself. Expect to hear latin-inspired grooves this night, with bass-heavy reggaeton, reggae, and dancehall topping the list. Guest DJs, MCs and bands weekly....

And of course don't forget to check out the MASH UP CREW every Sunday night from 8-10pm at the First Floor! Residents Daneekah, Ras Crucial, Jesse I, and Sista Itations mashin da place!

Aiight, my PICS page is FINALLY fixed and fully functional -- all the thumbnails now link to the full images. So sorry for the long delay in dealing with dat... I've also gone ahead and uploaded a bunch of new pictures for you to check out: Several pics from last week's Breakthru 3 Year Party, as well as some overdue shots from my last trip to Australia... Enjoy...

SUN 01.23.05 12:46:30 PST
New year, new plans.. Big respects to all who came out for the Breakthru 3 Year anniversary party at Club 6! A truly wicked session from beginning to end! Also big thanks to all who came thru and played for us: Irie Dole reppin' Jah Warrior and Coop D'Ville mashed the upstairs area while way too many to mention held down the bassment. Stay tuned for more Breakthru events in the coming year...

I am very happy to announce that I have just released a storming new DJ mix fresh for the '05: it's an 80 minute mix of some fierce dancehall riddims and a healthy dose of some of my very own exclusive hip hop remixes! Big big tunes on there, many of which you won't hear ANYWHERE else! Check the AUDIO page for the tracklist and audio link. (Audio should be up soon.) Like all of my mixes, copies are available for purchase thru me for $12. If in the Bay Area, you can also pick up a copy at Amoeba Records on Haight St as well as at Wisdom Records on Mission St @ Silver Ave. Copies are also available online thru www.zionsgate.com.... Support support!

And just when you (I, actually) thought the travels were over, the month of February will find me a-foreign in the amazing country of Thailand. Catch me at my last gig before I bounce this coming Wednesday January 26th at Cypher Sound's new party VYBZ going down at the Lit Lounge (6th/Mission). Nuff reggae, dancehall & ragga jungle inna di place!

Lastly, I know that the pictures on my PICS page aren't loading right, but I'm working on it.... Peace...

WED 10.27.04 17:05:22 PST
Greetings... Forward again and I am now back in the US after a great 4 months in Australia. Biggup to everyone who took care of me while out there -- especially the 819 and Mash It Up Massives! Thank you for all the meals and gigs! Wouldn't have been the same without ya...

Alright, onward.... After a year-long hiatus, I'm happy to let everyone know that as of November I will once again be an SF Bay Area resident! Didn't think I'd be heading back this soon, but so it goes. Feeling quite excited about being back in my "element." (For those that know what I'm talkin about, the Bay is where it's at!)... No major musical endeavors to report of yet, but I'll post em here as soon as they take shape.

Lastly, I can now finally say that my AUDIO page is fully functional! About time! You can finally log on and listen to all of my mixes in streaming Real Audio format. (www.real.com for the free Real Player.) All mixes are available for $12 each if you'd like to own any for yourself... I will also be updating my DATES page with all of my summer's gigs very shortly.

WED 06.23.04 14:50:59 PST
Well, fast-forward a few months and I find myself on the brink of change once again: This week I depart on another journey to Australia -- this time for nearly 4 months! Lots planned for my visit, but for now I'm going to keep the exact details of my musical doings to myself. Stay tuned for that info once I touch down (unda).... Anyone looking to get in touch with me during my travels, email is probably your best bet. My California cell/voicemail will probably be getting temporarily disconnected, so if you need to get ahold of me you can call me in Australia at 011-613-9482-2541.

Also wanna biggup a couple of new website additions: If you haven't already noticed it, I've now added an ORIGINAL TUNES page to the audio section of my site. This page is 100% dedicated to my own productions, and will be getting updated constantly. Apart from posting completed tracks, I will also be posting new tunes that are still 'in progress', so if you have any opinions I'm all ears.
I've also added an improved GUESTBOOK on my site, so if you're in the hood and wanna drop me a line, now's your chance. I'd love to hear from you...

Lastly, I would personally like to let everyone in the SoCal area know about an *amazing* place I discovered called GALOKA. Galoka is a fine-dining vegetarian Indian restaurant that, apart from having some of the best food I've come across in my travels, is also a full-bar lounge and art gallery. DJs and live bands work the late-nite rotation from Thursday-Saturday, with Thursday nite being pure reggae. What more could one ask for?.. Anyway, I could go on but I'll refrain and just tell you to check out their website for all the details....

Oh, almost forgot: Also check out www.YouStation.com for one of the newest & nicest reggae/dancehall culture websites. Listen to new riddims, listen to streaming radio, or watch one of the *many* dancehall videos that they have archived. Dope....

FRI 02.20.04 00:34:13 PST
Ok, as promised, the updating has begun. Two main areas to check out: Firstly, my DATES page has been made current with all of my recent Australian tour dates. Stay tuned to that page for events in the coming weeks/months... And secondly, my PICS page has been given a MUCH MUCH needed revamping -- I just about doubled the number of pictures on there (including many great shots from my OZ trip -- thanks Jesse!), so stop in and check it out. I still have a few more OZ pics to throw up there (More Fire!), so check back soon...

While on the topic of Australian gigs, i want to take this opportunity to properly shout out and thank all of the wonderful people that i met on my travels for treating me with utmost kindness and respect thru and thru. Far too many names to list -- Daneekah the rhythm-mixxa, Chant Down Sound, Brunswick North soccerites, Cape Lounge crew, the list goes on -- so i'll spare us all the trouble. In any case, Melbourne reggae massive....BIG UP!!

Oh, and for all you Melbourne residents out there, i also want to make quick mention of a new reggae weekly that i am very very happy to announce: RUFF ENUFF -- going down every Tuesday nite at the Cape Lounge w/selectas Daneekah, Sister Itations, Ranking Yoni, and the Vibesman holdin it down pon the mic! Tuff selectas, tuff tunes, every time... Show some support and check 'em out!

THU 02.12.04 10:42:55 PST
Alright, back in action now after a truly amazing 6 weeks in Australia. [Much love to everyone there!] I've been back in the States for exactly one week now, and i currently find myself residing in my new home = San Diego.... Got lots of updating to do on this website [LOTS!], so just bear with me while i get over my jetlag... More in a few days..

SAT 12.20.03 01:06:10 PST
Well, time continues onward and i now find myself approximately 30 hours away from departing San Francisco and setting up home base somewhere else. Wow. Still feel as tho the reality of it all is yet to sink in, but i'm sure the next 24 hours will help push that along. So many great people here -- it's going to be tough moving on. But at the same time the future is bright and the new journies will only leave room for new connections....

And of course, how could i neglect the fact that i am about to embark on the trip of a lifetime?!?! Australia and South Africa await! So so so excited to welcome the new lands, new people, and most of all the new experiences!

This will undoubtedly be the final entry here before i return, so in the meantime be well and hit me up via email if you've got anything to say...... Until then......

MON 11.03.03 00:48:59 PST
Another short announcement..... Just wanted to let you know that i just finished a new reggae/dancehall mix [about 1 hour ago, actually], so click the link above for a listen. It's a mix of some stuff i've been really into recently, and was done in one take.... Enjoy... also, most of my other audio streams should be up again now, so check those out as well if you're a newcomer....

MON 10.27.03 10:51:00 PST
Ok, the site is now back up. Still going to take another minute to reach full functionality. All audio streams should be up again very soon.....

FRI 10.24.03 18:09:33 PST
Couple of quick things: i've finally given my bio a much needed boost, so be sure to check that out if you haven't anytime recently... Also, i am in the process of transferring my website to another server, so if the site is down for a minute, please know that it will be back up very soon. I am going to do everything in my power to minimize the downtime.... Thirdly, lots of good gigs coming up in the next two weeks -- including a dope show with Chris Carter, JahYzer, me and others on 11/7 -- so be sure and check my dates page for all the details.... And lastly, the Australian portion of my DJ trip this coming January is starting to come together, so keep an eye out for those dates as they get added. Still more dates available, so any Ozzie contacts get in t_o_u_c_h.

SAT 10.18.03 01:24:50 PST
Wow, lots to report! Been lagging on the updates as of late, mainly due to a pretty hefty case of carpal tunnel in both wrists. Sorry bout that. I'm going to make every effort to keep you all informed...

I am very happy to announce that this coming January i will be heading out to Cape Town, South Africa to DJ at the international reggae festival CAPEFEST! Very very excited about this glorious opportunity to explore new lands and cultures while playing music for 30,000 people! Biggups to Brother Leonard and Brother Devin for the opportunity! I'm going to be DJing before some of my all-time favorite reggae acts [Yami Bolo, Prezident Brown, Mutabaruka, Macka B, Ini Kamoze and more!] and i -- alongside the other CAPEFEST DJ, Fletcher -- will also be playing at most of the official after parties! I cannot wait. [Check the link above for the updated events schedule/program.].... I will also be traveling to Australia from Dec 25th - Jan 21st and will be available for bookings then. More info as those details arrive...

Alrite, that's all for now. More soon....

SAT 09.13.03 10:10:10 PST
Damn, no update in over three months!! Sorry! Things have been busy as ever for me as i wind down my final few months here in SF and prepare for my move to San Diego at year's end. Lots to do... Things have really slowed down on the dj front due to my ongoing back issues. Sucks. Going on six months of chronic pain now. Yikes. Hopefully the coming months will see some positive change... This is by far the biggest break i have taken from djing in the last 4-5 years. Feeling pretty ready to jump back into it now, so hopefully i can make the SF rounds as a resident one last time in the next few months. Stay tuned....

The good news is that because i have been forced to steer clear of decks and records this summer, i have been able to put significant energy into my own productions. Been working on lots of tracks, with several more in the works. Seems i have hit a ragga jungle faze again -- been crankin out some ragga tunes over the past month or two. Also got some big plans brewing in that department, including working with some top Jamaican vocalists.. [Big up to Leonard!!] That's all i shall say about that right now...

Speaking of ragga jungle, RAGGA JUNGLE VOL 1 has been officially re-released on CD! Finally! Revamped artwork, complete with the full tracklisting! Copies can always be purchased thru me or directly at Amoeba here in SF, Breakbeat Science in NYC, and Zion's Gate Records in Seattle. More stores soon... Go here for a listen...

Aiight, enough for now... More soon....

SAT 06.07.03 23:02:59 PST

SUN 05.25.03 21:47:11 PST
Hey. Feels like it's been a minute... Things are moving along as always here in my world. For those who have noticed, i've been letting up on the gigs lately, mainly due to a pretty nasty back injury that i've been trying to heal from for the past 3 months. Swollen disc. Sucks. Realized that carrying heavy record bags isn't exactly helping [nor is hunching over turntables for over an hour at a time], so i'm trying to lighten the load for a second. [Of course, this is NOT to say that i'm unavailable for bookings!]

Got some good news this week: turns out that a good portion of the politically charged Electro Controversy intro that i composed earlier this year is going to be pressed to vinyl! DJ Lorin [aka Bassnectar] has decided to include dj-friendly snippets from my intro [along with some of his own] on his upcoming breaks 12" release on Full Tilt Records out of the UK! Props to Lorin! Due for an early summer release, keep an eye out for it... Getting the message out to the masses -- finally!! [Click above link for a listen.]

Ok. That's it for now. More news soon to follow...

WED 04.17.03 20:49:58 PST
Alright, finally: Just posted 2 of my new tracks on my AUDIO page. I also posted 2 more that are still in progress. "Chair_ba" is a DJ GASP track that i have remixed, and also the track that i've been spending the most time on as of late. Still in the early stages tho... Enjoy [and let me know what you think.....

TUE 04.04.03 18:09:08 PST
For all you anti-war protesters and protestees out there, i just wanna make quick mention of an upcoming party i'm playing at = JAILBREAK! JB is an underground benefit party which aims to gather funds for IndyMedia.org, with hopes of also helping cover some of the costs of the legal fees resulting from the [plentiful] unlawful arrests made during the March anti-war protests! Goin til late [4am] in an amazing Oakland warehouse spot! More detailz tba...

TUE 03.11.03 13:22:49 PST
Back in SF after a truly fantastic time working on my uncle's vineyard/farm down in San Diego. So amazing, in fact, that i am seriously considering relocating there sometime later this year. It just might be time for a little change of scenery, time to explore some new options and see exactly what this feeling in my gut is all about... Don't fret though, i am by no means turning in my turntables! I have every intention of continuing on my quest to play and live music -- only difference would be that my ground zero would then be Socal. [promoters take note! ;)] More info as i figure out what the heck is going on... In the meantime, check my DATES page for my upcoming gigs..

Also wanna mention that i have just received an offer to play an event in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in early May! Whether or not i accept will be largely dependent on what the morons running this country decide to do with this war mess. Let's hope that it all works out [for the whole world, that is], and that i am able to visit the Middle East in the face of this amazing opportunity. Suggestions welcome...

Lastly [and ironically enough with that last paragraph above], if you're yet to give "The Electro Controversy" a listen, do it!! AUDIO or try the link above... Hardcopies are also available thru me.

FRI 01.31.03 10:17:37 PST
Aiight, so i'm about to head down to San Diego for the month of February [to get away from the city for a minute and learn how to make some wine], and i've gotten most of my strings tied -- i think... Anyway, before i cut out i just wanted to let everybody know that i have completed a new dj mix [about time! i realized that it'd been well over a year!] that's up for your listening pleasure. [see link above, or check my AUDIO page.] I am veryvery proud of this mix -- apart from being one of my best works musically, this mix has also got a message that REALLY needs to get out there! So listen, enjoy, lemme know what you think, and DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!! [oh, and hardcopies are also available thru me.]

For all you glass art and pipe enthusiasts out there, i also wanted to make quick mention of an amazing glass pipe art show that my boy Gasp is putting on in March. It's called HEADPIECE and will feature works by some of the country's leading glass blowers. [along with beats courtesy of me.] Visit SoulCraftGlass for more in4o..

Alright, anyone lookin to get in touch while i'm gone, just hit me up on email... PEACE!!!

WED 12.04.02 10:17:05 PST
Just one more month til the new year. Damn. Just too too fast... Anyway, if you're at all interested in checking out some of the music that i've been working on, i have now added a "My Tracks" section to my AUDIO page. I shall be slowly adding tracks as they get completed/take shape, so keep checking back for the progressions. At this point many of the tracks are works in progress [is your own music ever really 'done'?], so pleaseplease feel free to give me as much feedback as you see fit. [email or guestbook]
Tanks..

THURS 11.07.02 15:41:31 PST
Aiight, aiight.. Hope all are well. Sorry for the disconnect, things have just been a bit busy lately.. Want everyone to please take not of the DOPE electro/experimental party that us Terpsichorians and Echolocation are throwing -- SLIGHTLY BENT -- on November 22nd. Tipper, Proem, L'usine, and more! Go here for the details.
I've also started throwing around the idea of adding more content to my website, such as a "Featured Artist" page which would feature a different visual or music artist each month. Still trying to work out the specs on that one. Suggestions?
Ok, i've got lots of gigs coming up, so mos def check my DATES page for a visit near yoo..
Hasta prontito..

Hey there. So, it's been a while -- there's just too much going! It just gets so hard to stay on top of everything! Ok...
Firstly wanna mention a new project that i have recently become a part of: THE TERPSICHORE GROUP. There are way too many facets of Terpsichore to go into too much detail here [i'll let you wait until our website is up], but for now i'll just say that Terpsichore is a group of local DJs/artists/musicians who are working together to promote art and artists, specifically of the experimental electronic music nature. Check out our Terpsichore monthly party SYNAPSE goin' down the first Tuesday of every month at Lazslo [2534 Mission b/w 21st/22nd], which focuses on IDM, ambient and electro music. This month we've very happy to have special guests Audioel & Scoop of CYBRID fame hookin' up a live laptop-dj set, along with residents me, Sariah Storm, & V0lljude -- happening September 3rd.
We've got *lots* of great things/events lined up in the coming months, so stay tuned! Oh, and if you'd like to be placed on the Terpsichore mailing list, just send a blank email here.

Next up, us BREAKTHRU boyz have decided to launch a new mixed CD series entitled "Breakthru Sessions." Each CD will be mixed by a different Breakthru DJ, and will cover a slightly different side of the breaks spectrum. First up is Eric Riggsbee with "Volume 1" -- a 70 minute mix of the funkier, progressive side of nu breaks. "Volume 2" -- an all-electro CD mixed by yours truly -- is slated for a early October release. Copies for any and all CDs can always be purchased thru me, or by visiting the Breakthru website.

Lastly, i finally updated my pictures page, so check out the latest gems. More will be up very soon...

Hey... Ok, lotsa stuff happening right now: Firstly, the Andrés vs. El Juan dnb/ragga Groovetech session [which happened on Groovetech-SF's last live day on the air], is finally up on my audio page. Check the link to watch & listen...

Secondly, i've got some pretty nice gigs coming up, including the monster night on the 21st [with Meat Kaite, Dillinja, and Lemon D!], a night of experimental isms at Laszlo on August 6th, as well as a special triple-ragga-tag-team coming up at the SF dnb weekly Halflife on August 12th. Check the DATES page for the complete info.

Lastly, the BREAKTHRU website has been given a complete face-lift. Waaaay more functional now, as A:Dubl and i have developed it beyond simply being an online flyer for our events. The new website [which has already launched] comes complete with 12" reviews and special features/articles on all things breaks. Stay tuned for de-tails...

Oh! almost forgot: Interested in amazing hand blown glass art? Stress Collective DJ GASP has most definitely got what you need... Soulcraft Glass

So, it would seem that times are tough for Bay Area promoters right now, as three of my gigs in these two weeks have been cancelled: The Sacred Land Project monthly and RESONANCE have both temporarily lost their spaces, sadly resulting in the post-ponement of each party. Similarly, the Eyephunk folks were forced to do a last-minute location change for FUSION -- to a smaller venue -- which means that there will be no breaks room... Hopefully they will all be rescheduled soon tho, so keep checking back for any updates.

On a similar note, I am also sad to announce that the Stress Collective underground monthly parties CODED and FOCUS are also on hiatus, as we take a moment to reformat them and find them a new home. Until then, stay tuned for some Stress one-offs coming soon!
Lastly, the plans for my trip to Japan [May 28th-June14th] are starting to come together, and I am still on the lookout for more DJ gigs for my journey. If you can be of any assistance, please get in touch...

FRI 02.22.02 00:36:23 PST

Hey hey... Well, as expected, things are getting off to a slow start! However, the site is definitely coming together more and more with each passing day, so don't fret. My first order of business is getting all of my current mixed releases up on my AUDIO page [BASICS and ELECTROBASS are up now], so be on the lookout for those...
Also wanna mention that if the recent onslaught of underground Stress Collective parties has passed you by, it's time to get in the know! Email me for more info!
Aiight, check the DATES page for my upcoming gigs...

WED 12.19.01 15:39:51 PST
Hey and welcome to djandresoctavio.com! [Finally!] Things are just getting underway here, so the site isn't quite running at full speed yet. Seeing that i am the motivated individual that i am, however, it shouldn't take too long for it to reach full functionality... [coming soon: sample mix section with 30 minute sample MP3 mixes in many different genres!].
